Wanted: Guest Bloggers and Success Story Interviewees

by Amy Derby on August 30, 2008

wantedIn an effort not to bore anyone to sleep here (myself included), I’ve decided to mix things up a little. A few changes on the horizon I’m considering include guest posts and success story interviews. If you’re a freelance writer or blogger who wants to contribute, email me.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

Guest Posts:

Topics of use to freelance writers/bloggers only please. (We can read about viagra, poker and get rich quick schemes in our spam filters.) Keep in mind that at least half of Write From Home readers are just starting out. Please send your idea to me along with a little bit about you (i.e., how long have you been freelancing/what do you write/where can I read your stuff). I don’t ask that you prepare a fully written post to send, but if you want to do that, that’s fine. Questions, email me.

Success Stories:

I’m interested in interviewing folks about their freelance writing/blogging success stories. Gotten your first assigment for a national mag? Received a publishing deal for your novel? Reached 1000 RSS subscribers on your blog? Landed the perfect freelance blogging gig and just feel like bragging about it? If you’ve succeeded in some way (large or small) and you’d like to be featured in a Write From Home post, I would like to interview you by email.

Other Ideas?

email me. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

###

In exchange for helping me out, I’ll gladly give you a bio paragraph for your guest post where you can link out to your blog/site and promote your products or services. Assuming your blog is on a niche/area I know something about, I would be happy to do a swap of guest posts with you. email me, and we can discuss the details.

You’ve gotten me off my ass and motivated to write a guest post that’s been lingering inside my head for while…

This sounds like it will be fun. I am feeling that sense of “I am too new to qualify for either of these catigories” syndrome right now, but if I can knock some sense or some ideas into my brain after coffee I’ll let you know!

Kara — Yay!! I do hope you’ll participate. :-)

Alex — Just emailed you back, but your idea rocks. I’m very much looking forward to your post. I think it’ll be quite popular here. :-)

Wendi — Don’t make me ride the scary Metra to smack that syndrome out of you. ;-) I think your contribution could be on how having 407.2 careers inspired you into the freelance life. :-) I will poke at you more after you’ve properly caffed up. Hehe.

Amy,

You really don’t bore me.

I don’t have 1000 RSS, no national mag gig yet, and I’m almost done with the novel. Yea!

I’ll just show up and be the audience.

Hi Amy - will think of an idea and email you soon. Like I said, I probably won’t be able to come up with anything for about a month though. Do you want stuff like author interviews etc, or would you prefer something practical?

Seeking Destiny — I’m always interested in hearing people’s stories. I’m just nosy like that. :-)

Ellen — That’s so great that you’re almost finished with the novel. How exciting. :-) You make a great audience, especially if you don’t think I’m boring!

Cath — I’ll be looking forward to your post. Yay. :-)

Considering I’ve never been paid for any of my writing, I don’t know how much of a success story I could give you! (grin)

Deb — Soon, I’m tellin’ ya. ;-)

Melissa — Of course! Just let me know what you want to do. I’m easy. (But I never said that.) :-)

Please do comment and discuss.
We love a good conversation!

Please use a name when commenting. Does not have to be your real name or full name. But responding to folks calling themselves "Make Money Writing Online" and such kinda sucks. Calling yourself keywords will likely get you thrown into my spam filter.
