Want to Be a Freelance Blogger?

by Amy Derby on March 14, 2008

If you’re an aspiring freelance blogger (i.e., you want to get paid to blog for other people), you might want to pay a visit to my new post at Performancing. Although some of this might be redundant if you’ve caught my bold moves and pitching posts, there are some added tips those new to the freelance blogging game might appreciate. (And there’s some new humor in there for those of you who only love me for my snark.)

Could be an idea!

Fenly, you’re in banking? Oh yeah, that could definitely be an idea. Corporate finance and personal finance blogs are both very big right now, and getting bigger every day.

That is a very nice post over there. As I read it again, I could almost swear you were speaking right to me… :)

Good tips all of them, laid out clearly and concisely.

Thanks!

That is a great post, Amy. I especially liked tip #1. ;-)

Smiles,
Michele

@Brett - #1 doesn’t apply to you. :-) Thanks for reading it, and glad you enjoyed.

@Michele - Thanks. That was my favorite one to write. ;-)

@ Amy - I have the biggest grin on my face :) I sure am glad #1 doesn’t apply to me!

I’ll pop over there in a bit and leave a comment.

I thought you’d like that. ;-)

I’m not sure how their comment system works, but if I remember right you have to register to post a comment. So when I post there I don’t feel too neglected when my posts don’t get comments. Nice folks over there though.

I sure did, I’m still grinning… ;)

I’ll check it out anyway, not too much trouble to register - it’s worth the effort to say hello and give thanks for good work.

Their setup is nice in many ways, but that isn’t one of my favorite parts. But it’s one of my favorite blogs to read for the technical stuff about blogs I don’t understand. :-)

I thought they had a lot of great stuff there too. The more I learn, the less I know sometimes… ;)

I’m so dense about some technical things it’s not even funny. I’ve re-read a few of those posts many times and walk away going “wow”!

Nah, it’s a question of only being able to know so much of anything, and knowing when to ask for help or go to an expert - you’re just smart! :) That’s how I look at it…

I used to do a lot of stuff with Linux, and I am still pretty technical into computer hardware and stuff.

You could figure it out, but have better things to do, like write. I know that’s how I got to the point of having a blog theme designed for me.

With limited time, I have to focus on the important things when I’m in the zone, and unplug when I’m not…
