Absolute Write
Seeks original and reprint articles and interviews related to the craft and/or marketing of writing. Pays $0.02 per published word ($10 minimum) per article, interview, essay, column, or book review.

ByLine Magazine
Seeks instructive or motivational articles that could be of genuine help to writers, especially how-to-write or how-to-sell to specific market areas. Payment is $100 on publication for all features 1,500 to 1,800 words. Purchases first North American rights only; no reprints.

Funds for Writers
Seeks articles less than 650-700 words on topics to help writers profit, such as ideas on breaking into a particular market, tips for winning writing contests, profitable business practices related to writing, and so on. Pays $35 for unpublished original articles; $10 for reprints. Payment made when article is accepted, usually within a week of submission, often within a day. Purchases one time electronic rights and archival rights for up to six months.

The Dabbling Mum
This Christian parenting magazine seeks articles between 500 and 1500 words on various topics related to writers and parents. Pays between $20-$40 for original articles; $5-$10 for reprints.

The Writer Magazine
Seeks feature articles 600 to 3,500 words, as well as writers for specific columns and departments 600 to 1,600 words. Generally buys first rights. Payment varies. Rates for articles range from $40 to $80 for book reviews to $100 to $300 for columns and $300 to $500 for features, depending on length, complexity and the research required. Items for the Take Note section pay $25 to $75.

Writers Digest
Pays 30-50 cents per word, on acceptance, for first world rights for one-time use and non-commercial electronic use. See guidelines for specific columns and sections available for freelance writers.

Writers Weekly
Seeks articles around 600 words on how to make money writing, including self-publishing, corporate writing, ghostwriting, all ideas that help writers support themselves performing the work they love — writing. Pays $50 for first-time non-exclusive electronic rights.

Writing-World.com
Seeks articles on almost every aspect of writing, including fiction, nonfiction, business writing, self-publishing, etc. They also use articles on issues of rights and contracts, and how to handle one’s writing business. Articles should be between 800 and 2000 words in length, with a preference for 1000-1500 words. Pays 5ยข/word for original articles, to a maximum of $100 (regardless of word count; thus, a 2500-word article is still paid only $100), a flat $25 for reprints. Payment is on acceptance. For humor, they pay a flat $15 per item. They buy first electronic rights plus three months’ exclusive rights for original articles, plus the right to archive all published articles on the website for a minimum of one year.

Writing for DOLLARS!
Seeks articles 500-1000 words on how-to-sell to specific markets, interviews with successful writers, new ways to make money as a writer. Pays $15 for articles, $25 for solicited articles, $10 for reprints.
