I’m Dangerous in the Dark

afraid of the darkI’m writing this with a pencil.

The wind knocked out our electricity at 10:30pm. It’s after midnight now and I’m tired but not sleepy enough to sleep. Instead of counting sheep I have spent the past few hours trying to re-train my mind to think slower, so I can write the words down. I’m not certain whether my hand has gotten slower since email was invented or if my brain has sped up. Either way, I’m here with a candle and a pencil, feeling pretty Amish except that I keep checking Twitter and email from my iphone, and I’m pretty sure the Amish don’t do that.
